Currencies of Germany and European Countries
The official currency of Germany is the euro (EUR), which is the single European currency. The euro is used for all payments in the country and is the main money of the Eurozone countries.
Today, there are 49 countries in Europe, and 20 countries use the euro (EUR) as their official currency, forming the Eurozone. Another 6 countries and territories use the euro, even though they are not officially part of the European Union.
The other European countries keep their own national currencies. Still, most European currencies depend on the euro in some way — through trade, currency reserves, or fixed rates. Even countries outside the EU use the euro as the main unit for foreign trade.
The euro (EUR) is still the key currency in the region. Among the most stable currencies are also the British Pound (GBP) and Swiss Franc (CHF), which show high stability against the euro. The US dollar (USD) is also considered a stable world currency.
